Tom Cairns is Co-Host JobTalk1 and author of All Systems Go: How to Launch a Successful Job Search. Tom is an Associate Professor and Fulbright Scholar in the Graduate School of Business and Management Azusa Pacific University and the Principal and Chief Career Coach of Cairns Blaner Group, a consulting company focused on delivering career management strategies and services.
Previously, Tom served as Chief Human Capital Officer, U.S. Department Homeland Security under President George W. Bush and President Barrack Obama. As Chief Human Capital Officer for Homeland Security, Tom was responsible for human resource management and training for over 200,000 employees.
Prior to founding the Cairns Blaner Group in 2007, Tom was Senior Vice President, Human Resources for NBC and NBC Universal, a division of General Electric Company. Tom spent 30 years at General Electric Company managing local, regional, and national human resource organizations.
Tom has demonstrated success leading human resource organizations in the private and public sector supporting executives in a high-performance culture. He is acknowledged for creating and staffing complex organizations that consistently deliver business results.
